šŸ“ Overview

Placing a test order is an essential step before going live. It lets you see exactly what your offerings look like to customers and helps you understand the entire registration process on your website. You'll use a 100% discount coupon so no actual payment is processed—this is purely for verification.

āš ļø Before You Start

āš ļø Before placing a test order, you must:

  • Finalize all your activities and schedules

  • Ensure everything is published properly

  • If you haven't done this yet, see here for setup instructions

  2. Look for the button labeled New Coupon in the upper right corner of the screen

  3. Click it to create a new coupon

  4. Set up the applicable fields to create your 100% off coupon

Now you're ready to test the customer experience. Follow these steps exactly as a customer would:

  1. From the sidebar menu, locate the button labeled Live View in the bottom left corner and click it. This shows you your live schedule exactly as it appears on your website

  2. Find the specific scheduled activity you want to test and click More Info. If your default view is calendar view, click into a specific activity first to see the More Info option

  3. Click Register and follow the prompts to:

    • Select a pricing option

    • Select a registrant

    • Select specific dates

    • If you haven't added a child to your account, you'll be prompted to do so at this step

    • Click Add to Cart once your selections are complete

  4. On the cart screen, locate the box labeled Promo Code in the bottom left corner. Enter your coupon code here and then click Apply. Verify that the 100% discount is applied successfully.

  5. Click Checkout and follow all form field prompts.

  6. Click Continue to Payment to proceed to the payment screen.

  7. You'll be taken to an order summary page. Review your test order details and click the Place Order button in the upper right corner.

  8. You'll see a confirmation screen indicating your test order was placed successfully

ā“ Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about placing test orders.

Can I use a real payment method for my test order instead of a coupon?

Click here the arrow to view the answer

You can, but we don't recommend it. Using a 100% off coupon ensures no charges are made and you can freely test multiple times. If you do use a real payment method, the charge will process normally, so only do this if you're intentionally making a real purchase.

Can I place multiple test orders?

Click here the arrow to view the answer

Yes! You can place as many test orders as you'd like using your 100% off coupon. This is a good way to test different activity types, pricing options, and registration paths to make sure everything works smoothly.

What if I see an error message during the test order?

Click here the arrow to view the answer

If you encounter any errors, take a screenshot and contact the support team at [email protected] with details about what happened. Common issues include activities not being published properly or missing required setup steps.

Do test orders show up in my customer reports?

Click here the arrow to view the answer

Yes, test orders appear in your Financials > Orders section. If you want to keep your reporting clean, you can delete test orders after you've verified everything is working. However, there's no issue with leaving them—they won't affect your business operations.

What if my activities aren't showing up in the Live View?

Click here the arrow to view the answer

Make sure your activities are published and properly added to your schedule. If they still don't appear, verify that your schedule's dates haven't already passed. See here for detailed schedule setup instructions.

Can I test the registration process on mobile?

Click here the arrow to view the answer

Yes. The registration process is fully responsive, so it works on desktop, tablet, and mobile. Try placing a test order on different devices to see how customers experience your registration on various screens.

Where is the Live View button if I don't see it?

Click here the arrow to view the answer

The Live View button is in the bottom left corner of your sidebar menu when you're logged into your Sawyer account. If you don't see it, make sure you're logged into your provider account (not the customer marketplace) and that your schedule has been published.

Can I share the Live View with someone else to get feedback before going live?

Click here the arrow to view the answer

Not directly from the Live View button, but you can share the actual embed URL on your website with team members or stakeholders for feedback. This is the best way to see how your widget looks in the context of your real website.

What should I do after my test order is successful?

Click here the arrow to view the answer

Once you've verified that everything looks correct and the registration flow works smoothly, you're ready to go live! Contact the support team at [email protected] if you need help with the next steps or to arrange widget embedding on your website.

Can I delete my test order?

Click here the arrow to view the answer

Yes. You can delete test orders from your Financials > Orders page if you want to keep your order history clean before officially launching. However, it's not necessary—test orders won't affect your live business.
