Manage Payment Methods and Banking

Learn how to update your subscription credit card and change the bank account where Sawyer sends your payments, including identity verification requirements.

Sawyer has two key payment settings you may need to update: your subscription credit card (how you pay your Sawyer account fees) and your connected bank account (where Sawyer deposits your payments). Both are managed through your Business Account settings and require proper verification for security.

  1. Click your business name in the top right of your Sawyer provider portal

  2. Select Business Account

  3. Navigate to Subscription

  4. Add or edit your credit card information

  5. Click Subscribe

Update Bank Account in Sawyer

  1. Click your business name in the top right of your Sawyer account

  2. Navigate to Business Account and then choose Banking

  3. Click the three-dot menu icon "..." to the right of your banking details

  4. Select Change Bank Account


Complete Verification in Stripe

You'll be directed to Stripe's verification portal to complete the bank change. This security step is required to maintain financial account integrity and prevent unauthorized changes.

  1. Enter your email address and phone number

  2. You'll receive a verification code via text message to the number on file—enter this code

  3. Verify your identity using one of the following methods:

Option 1: Bank Account Verification

  • Enter the bank account where you currently receive Sawyer payments

Option 2: Personal Information

  • Full name (as it appears in Sawyer)

  • Last four digits of your personal tax ID

  • Date of birth

Note: This information must be provided by the person who originally set up the account.

Option 3: Photo ID

  • Upload a government-issued photo ID

āš ļø Only the original account owner can authorize bank account changes. If someone other than the original owner needs to make this change, they'll need to provide verification of identity or contact support for assistance.

How long does it take for a credit card change to take effect?

Credit card updates take effect immediately. Your next subscription payment will use the new card on file.

Identity verification is a security requirement from our payment processor, Stripe. This protects your account from unauthorized changes and fraudulent activity.

What if I don't remember the last four digits of my tax ID?

Will changing my bank account affect pending payments?

No. Any payments already processed will go to your previous bank account. Only new payments after the change will be deposited to your new bank account.
