Overview
Typically Semesters are used for activities that repeat regularly on a weekly basis for a designated amount of time and Camps/Events are used for activities that occur on an irregular basis. These tabs also correlate to the tabs that show on your widget.
There are programs that could be set up in either the Semesters or Camps/Events tab, so for more information on the distinctions and to help you make the best choice, read more below.
Key differences
- Semesters allow for monthly pricing, where the customer enrolls for the full term but pays on a monthly basis.
- Camps/Events allow for weekly pricing, where the customer can select which weeks of the activity they want to register for.
Semesters
Create a Semester timeframe by choosing the start week, end week, and holidays. Then add activities to your timeframe, which is where you will select the day(s) of week the activity runs within the date range.
In Semesters, any activities that you add to a timeframe will repeat each week within that range of dates. Semesters are typically used to set up weekly programming. For example, "rock climbing at 4 PM on Mondays."
Camps/Events
Create a Camp/Event timeframe by choosing all of the dates that the activities in this timeframe will occur. Then add activities to your timeframe.
In Camps/Events, any activities that you add to a timeframe will repeat every day within that range of dates. Camps/Events are typically used to set up summer camps or one-off events. For example, a summer camp that happens Monday through Friday or a one-day choir concert that never repeats.
