What activities can I add free trials to?
You can add free trials to Semester activities and Camps/Events.
How do free trials affect class capacity?
Free trials count toward the overall class-roster capacity for that class-day. (You can place orders for bookings that exceed the capacity using the New Order button.)
Can you set up free trial classes that are only for free trials?
You can! However, this feature is designed to let students drop-in to a paid class for free. If you want to set up a free trial class that is only for free trials, you can also create a free activity.
For a multiday class, is the free trial for multiple days or just one?
A free trial is always for a specific single day and the customer will select which day they want as their free trial day.
What if we have students signing up for a free trial to a program, but due to low enrollment, we have to cancel the program?
That’s up to you! Just like the rest of the students who are already enrolled in a program that you have to cancel, you may want to reach out to the customer and offer an alternative. If you use the transfer feature to move them to a new roster, they’ll still have the free-trial label next to their name. Free trials are a great place to build customer relationships and leave a great first impression — so be mindful of interactions you may have with new customers.
Is it possible to do a nominal fee trial instead of a free trial?
As it stands, free trials are free and cannot be created with an associated fee. There are some workarounds though! Please reach out to support@hisawyer.com and we can workshop ideas with you. A common option is to use coupon codes.
How many free trials can be offered to a customer?
At the moment, a customer can book 1 free trial for each attendee who has not previously booked at your business. Trials can be offered in any scheduled activity for Semesters and Camp/Event timeframes.
Please note that there isn't currently a way to limit free trials in a single order.
As a provider, you can manually offer additional free trials for customers that have previously booked or attended another trial class by using the “New Order” function in your Sawyer provider portal.
How can we limit the number of free trial students per scheduled activity?
At the moment there isn’t a way to control the total number of trials allowed in a scheduled activity as it is based on activity capacity. However, as a best practice, we recommend turning on the free trial setting at the start of enrollment periods. This allows you to generate new customer interest and conversions when you need it most. If enrollment begins to fill up in a specific day and time, you may decide to toggle off the setting to prevent additional trials beyond a specific date.
How do activities with free trials appear on my widget?
Great question! Activities that offer free trials will appear on your widget with a blue Free Trial Offer label.
