When you open AI Business Advisor, you'll land directly on your monthly Business Advisor Dashboard. Here's a breakdown of what you'll find.

Summary

The Summary section appears at the top of your report and gives you a high-level snapshot of the month. It includes a headline, a brief description, a status badge, and your primary KPI with month-over-month and year-over-year change indicators.

Key Metrics

The Key Metrics section displays six core performance indicators for the month. Each metric includes a value, a directional badge showing whether the number is trending up or down, and benchmark context so you can see how you compare.

Metric

What It Shows

Active Families

Families active in the last 90 days

Retention Rate

Percentage of last month's customers who returned

Average Fill Rate

Percentage of capacity filled across all sessions

Average Order Value

Average revenue per transaction

New Families

New families added this month

Average Customer LTV

Lifetime revenue value per customer

💡 Hover over any metric to view a tooltip with additional context and details.

Opportunity

The Opportunity section highlights your single biggest growth opportunity for the month. It includes a dollar-value headline and supporting data rows to help you understand the scope of the opportunity.

Action Items

The Action Items section includes up to three numbered, platform-specific recommendations based on your data and business model. Each action item includes a description and an expected outcome. Recommendations are limited to actions you can take within Sawyer's existing features, such as email campaigns, messaging, scheduling tools, and review requests.

Key Insights

The Key Insights section includes up to three analytical observations about your business performance for the month. Each insight includes a title and a short description.

Benchmark Position

The Benchmark Position section shows where you rank compared to other providers with a similar business model. Benchmark positions are shown in four buckets:

  • Top 25%

  • Top 50%

  • Top 75%

  • Bottom

Benchmarks cover Revenue, Average Order Value (AOV), Retention Rate, and Review Count.

🧠 You're only compared against providers with a similar business model — for example, seasonal camp operators are benchmarked against other seasonal camp operators, not year-round centers. This keeps comparisons fair and relevant.

Class/Activity Performance Table

The Class/Activity Performance Table shows all of your sessions for the month. For each session, you'll see:

  • Class name

  • Session date

  • Enrollment and capacity numbers

  • A fill rate bar

  • A status chip indicating performance (At Capacity, Near Capacity, Strong, Room to Grow, or Below Target)

Report Footer

At the bottom of every report, you'll find the date and time the report was generated, as well as information on how to reach support if you have questions.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Find answers to common questions or additional details that may not be covered in the main instructions.

What is AI Business Advisor and how does it generate reports?

Click the arrow to see the answer

AI Business Advisor is a monthly AI-powered report that gives you insights into your business performance. It pulls data from your account — including revenue, customer retention, activity fill rates, reviews, and family composition — and uses that data to generate a structured report with a summary, key metrics, benchmark positioning, actionable recommendations, and class performance details. Reports are generated per provider and cached monthly.

When does my report update?

Click the arrow to see the answer

A new report is generated on the 1st of every month at 6:00 AM EST, covering the prior month's activity.

What data is used to generate my report, and are there any limitations?

Click the arrow to see the answer

Your report draws from five data categories: revenue and transactions, customer bookings, activity enrollment, family composition, and reviews.

One key limitation to be aware of: revenue cannot be attributed to individual activities. Because orders may include multiple activities without splitting revenue by line item, per-activity revenue is excluded from the report.

How does the report personalize recommendations for my business?

Click the arrow to see the answer

Your account is automatically classified into one of three business model types based on your data patterns:

  • Seasonal Camp

  • Year-Round Center

  • Specialty Instruction

This classification shapes the tone, insights, and action items in your report to be relevant to how your business actually operates.

Who am I being benchmarked against?

Click the arrow to see the answer

You're only benchmarked against providers with a similar business model. This keeps comparisons fair and relevant. Benchmark positions are shown in four buckets: Top 25%, Top 50%, Top 75%, and Bottom.

How accurate is the report?

Click the arrow to see the answer

Every report includes a disclaimer at the top: "This report is AI-generated and may contain inaccuracies." Use it as a directional guide to inform your decisions — not as a financial audit.

What happens if I'm new or don't have much data yet?

Click the arrow to see the answer

If your account doesn't have enough activity to generate a report, you'll see an "Insights Coming Soon" message. Check back once more data has been collected.

Why is AI Business Advisor in the Integrations tab and not the Reports section?

Click the arrow to see the answer

AI Business Advisor is currently located under Settings → Integrations. Future placement within the app may be updated based on provider feedback.

Will using AI Business Advisor slow down Sawyer?

Click the arrow to see the answer

No. Reports run on a separate read-only database, so there's no impact on your day-to-day experience in Sawyer.

Can I download or share my report?

Click the arrow to see the answer

Yes — a PDF download option is available on the report page so you can save or share your insights.
