Google will be deprecating their support of Google analytics 3 code (also known as Universal Analytics or UA) and have been asking everyone to migrate to Google Analytics 4 (aka GA4).
How do I know what version of Google Analytics I have?
If you go to your settings (https://www.hisawyer.com/portal/account/settings) the section for "Google Analytics" has the tag. If it starts with UA followed by a sequence of numbers, you're on the older version of Google Analytics that will be replaced in the future.
What's the Timing?
Universal analytics (UA) will be supported until July 2023. Sawyer will not be removing our current integration with UA until we are confident that the integration is successful and all data is being tracked as expected.
Sawyer's support of GA4
This is currently in progress, but GA4 is not yet supported on Sawyer for Business. Any providers that are leveraging the UA tags should not have an impact to their analytics data. Sawyer is currently working on the new GA4 integration and will be running both UA and GA4 tags in parallel to reduce data loss. We will also be verifying conversion and revenue metrics during this new integration to validate the data is picked up during the customer's checkout/purchase.
What should I do now?
Nothing. If you're using a UA tag, please do not update your settings until Sawyer's changes updates are complete. If you do not yet have Google Analytics set up, please also standby until GA4 integration is completed.
