Customers will now have the option to pay for their activities booked directly through your business on your provider widget using ACH (Automatic Clearing House). ACH payments are directly linked to the customer's bank account.
Customers can see and manage their ACH accounts once they log in to their Sawyer account and go to the Account section. They will also have the opportunity to set up an ACH account at checkout. You will also be able to place orders on behalf of your customers, quick charge, and receive payments using the ACH payment method.
Please note:
- You will be able to charge a customer's ACH account after it's been linked.
- Customers cannot use ACH accounts to pay for activities on the Marketplace.
- ACH is optional. Customers can still choose to pay by credit card instead.
- You will not be able to add ACH on behalf of a customer.
How to enable the ACH payment method
1. Log in to your Sawyer account and go to the Settings page, by clicking on the top right hand Profile button.
2. Scroll down to Custom Payment Methods. To enable, toggle it on so it shows green. To disable, flip the toggle back to grey.
Note:
- Disabling ACH will display a message informing you that any existing orders with ACH will not be affected.
ACH pricing agreement & terms are also listed
- Payment processing fee is a percentage of the total order amount.
- Balance check fee is not applicable at this time. (Balance check is not yet a live feature).
- Account authorization fee is a fee that will be charged the first time ACH payment is used for a Provider, per account. Note, linking an ACH account will not incur this fee (the fee is only changed once a payment is taken, per ACH account).
Please note the following on a client profile page:
- ACH accounts that have been added by the customer will display only if the provider has ACH enabled.
- ACH accounts cannot be added by the provider.
- Providers can change the default ACH account on behalf of the customer from the ... menu.

Note:
- ACH accounts that have been added by the customer will display only if you have ACH enabled.

- Credit cards can also be selected and charged in the Quick Charge drop down.
2. Add New Order
-
- ACH as a payment method can be selected. The default ACH is displayed if there is more than one ACH account linked to the parent account.
- If there is an issue with the payment, an error message will appear at the top of the Payment Method section.
3. Receive payment (from the Orders page)
- ACH as a payment method can be selected. The default ACH is displayed if there is more than one ACH account linked to the parent account.
Order status
Because ACH has a delay in its payment processing, you can see the status of the payment on your account. These are the various order statuses you can see:
-
- ACH Processing - Displays when the order has been placed, but final payment to the provider has not been processed. This can take up to 4 business days.
- Paid - Displays when payment was successful.
- Payment Failed - Displays when the payment has been processed but failed. The bookings associated with this order still exist. You and your customer should work together to resolve the payment issue.
- Dispute Lost - Unlike credit card purchases, when ACH orders are disputed, providers are not allowed to provide evidence. Therefore disputes are automatically won by the customer. The bookings associated with this order still exist. You and your customer should work together to resolve the payment issue.
Payment activity
You will be able to see the payment method used for the order on the order page. If your customer changes their ACH payment method default, the ACH account used will reflect in the payment activity section.
