Google will be deprecating their support of Google Analytics 3 code (also known as Universal Analytics or UA) and have been asking everyone to migrate to Google Analytics 4 (aka GA4).

How do I know what version of Google Analytics I have?

If you go to your Settings, the section for Google Analytics has the tag. If it starts with UA followed by a sequence of numbers, you're on the older version of Google Analytics that will be replaced in the future.

To find your GA4 tags, please refer to the Google Analytics Help Center here.

What's the timing of the change?

Google will support Universal Analytics (UA) until June 30, 2023.

Sawyer's support of GA4

Sawyer for Business now supports GA4 . Any providers that are leveraging the UA tags should not have any impact on their analytics data (up until Google deprecates UA support). We have verified conversion and revenue metrics for this new integration and validated that the data is picked up during the customer's checkout/purchase. If there is data in your GA4 dashboard on Google Analytics that is inaccurate or missing, please contact [email protected].

What should I do now?

Update your Google Analytics tracking ID using your GA4 tag by going to the Settings page in your Sawyer portal.
